Singing group 'Rasanke' was founded in 2002 inside of Serbian cultural club of Raska region in Novi Pazar. Soon after cultural artistic society (CAS) 'RAS' was founded (in 2003) and therefore 'Rasanke' become active in the work of this society.
Ever since these girls perform in the same composition. Permanent members of this group are: Aleksandra Bulatovic, Milena Puzovic, Aleksandra Pavlovic, Olja Josic, Dolika Vasovic, Jovana Urosevic, Ivana Belojica, Gorica Niciforovic, Dragana Okosanovic, Iva Ilic. We will also mention the girls who have contributed to the progress of this group by theirs participation: Ivana Marjanovic, Sonja Marjanovic, Iva Gvozdenovic, Ana Cvetic, Ana Ilic, Tijana Vasovic.
The group is conducted by M.A.in music Biljana Pavlovic, docent on Teachers faculty in Leposavic.

'Rasanke' began with singing in primary school. Love for singing marked the period of their growning up, during high school and nowdays, when some of them are university students. Simply, singing became the integral part of their's life, personality, something by which they have become recognizable among their friends of the same age in the surrounding. As great patriots and admirers of their own tradition, they are fascinating by songs of theirs ancestors, so on their own repertoire original songs from whole Serbia are common, especially songs from Kosovo and with great pleasure they perform traditional songs from their native place.
'Rasanke' occationally perform followed by male vocals. These vocals are: Dorde Radomirovic, Aleksandar Sekularac, Gordan Mijailovic i Mihailo Cukanovic.
'Rasanke' participated on many cultural manifestations. By their ringing, youthful voices, simplicity and serenity 'Rasanke' conquered simpathies of the audience of Novi Pazar taking them into the world of original song, revealing its everlasting group, we will emphasize recording of CD in 2004, as well as publishing of book 'Rasanski motivi' by M.A. Biljana Pavlovic. There are 18 songs on this music CD with themes from Raska region (picture from museum and video clip with one of the songs).

By performing of the song 'Tresnja se o tresnju belese', inside of choreography 'Grdalica' whose author is Zvezdan Duric and staged by choreograph Rodoljub Aksentijevic, 'Rasanke' contributed to the folk assamble of CAS 'RAS' wining the greatest reward- The Golden peasant shoe, in Valjevo in 2007.'Rasanke' also participated on concerts aimed to action 'Podignimo stupove' which took place in Novi Pazar, Raska, Belgrade and other places. One of unforgetable concerts in Sava Centre which took place in may 2007, organized by choreograoh Dejan Milisavljevic Zvecanac and association of citizen from Belgrade.
In the show of Svetlana Azanjac 'Srpski istocnici, Pojmo rozdestvu' on RTS channel, 'Rasanke' introduced themselves with song 'Bozic, Bozic blagi dan'.
Persistent, hard-working and devoted work since 2003 up to present day, filled with love and respect to own tradition brought results, so 'Rasanke' have now become serious and professional singing which testimonies recently recorded song from Raska region called 'Oj, ruzice rumena'.
The song was arranged by Andrej Andrejevic (Art studio, Belgrade) Milenko Ivanovic-Crni had solo performance on pipe and musical suite on tamburitza and percussion instruments were performed by Aleksandar Milutinovic and Mladen Tomasevic.
The idea of recording the song came from Father Gerasim who is engaged in this region not only for development of religious feeling among local youth but also he takes care after preserving traditional musical values.

Induced by this idea, 'Rasanke' wish to continue with recording of several more songs and therefore present on the most beautiful way, their homeland to the large audience.
There are plans for recording a video clip for song 'Oj,ruzice rumena' in which Raska region will be presented in its pure beauty, natural, folk and historical sights.
To achieve this plan, some significant investments are necessary. Fund raising action is in the progress at the moment aimed to record the mentioned video clip.

We consider that this is the way of affirmation not only CAS 'RAS' and singing group 'Rasanke', but also whole Raska region with its rich folk inheritance. 'Rasanke' has its own successors called 'Rasankice'.
It is planned to put a song or two on the mentioned CD, performed by these successors, video clip from the last academy and some photos.
